A Peace to Sail Away In

The peace of  the wonders I am surrounded with in nature bring a warmth of joy and a hug to my heart.  There are always days when we wish we were someone else or somewhere else, but if we can look into the sky and be glad we have our sight, that is one more blessing we do have. 

Some days I just want to be a Disney princess... but just because she lived happily ever after, doesn't mean people everywhere have freedom to even live...now does it? I'm so glad I have my BASI girls with me! 

  
Ladies, ladies, ladies!  Don't you just hate it when you judge yourself for your body image.  Better yet, don't you hate it when you compare yourself to someone who you KNOW is anatomically possible for you to look like?  Just the other day I ran across this facebook page someone had liked titled "Asian Hotties."  I was in distress because many of these girls were showing more skin than their actual face.  They became like objects.  It made me sad that someone I knew could look at young ladies like this- and even more sad that these girls liked the attention from these photos, which psychologically lowers their true self respect.  Posting promiscuous pictures of yourself online is dangerous and adds to the dangerous road which lead men to see women for their bodies, and become slaves to their sexuality, this addiction is one of the hardest to get over.  Let's remind ourselves that we are beYOUtiful, and your body is a treasure, not to lure men into addiction and disintegration.  Addictions take control and blind people from real life.

I do want to be healthy, and look presentable and cute to others and myself.  Here I come to the part of the story where I always have to remind myself- I love fashion because it is like art on my body- and  not a lust!

"I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you.  Let them be a holy & living sacrifice-the kind He will find acceptable.  This is truly the way to worship Him.  Do not copy the behaviors & customs of this world, but let god transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will learn to know God's will for you , which is good & pleasing & perfect."  -Romans 12:1-2

Lastly, two things have come up this week many times: Patience and Story.  The word repetition doesn't nearly encompass the amount of times I have heard these words.  Since my school started 2 weeks ago I have been catching many opportunities that are thrown my way, and I suppose the Lord wants me to find my story, and use it to run and make these opportunities into successes.  I will assume that patience is what I need after I take my first leap into the water holding these opportunities with one hand, and the Bible in my other.

• By the way... an internship with TOMS has been my dream for over a year! So, below is a picture of TOMS shoes.  For every shoe purchased, one pair is donated to a child in a poverty stricken nation!
