Okiedokie, so Black Friday happened! I worked from 10:40pm to 6:15am, right after Thanksgiving Dinner with my family!  If that dinner wasn't enough, I was munching on snacks here and there during my shift at the mall.  All I did was hang clothes that were dumped on the floor... because hundreds of people came to the store I was working at within the first few hours of being there. (Fire hazard zone of human beings much?) It was a bit stressful because every time I would make one rack look nice and tidy, I would look to my right and see a rack I just organized magically appear to be messy once again.  And so, I stopped looking right. hehehe.  Oh, and I actually don't work at that store, I was just a temporary hire for Black Friday, but I am so glad I don't have to work there again.  I found the music selection so inappropriate.  At one point I felt like I was audibly violated (not sure if that's a real phrase).  I just don't understand how women can sing along to songs which clearly demean them and speak so dirtily about women.  Also, I'm not sure how the men that write and sing it are okay with that.  That made me confused and a bit sad.  Glad that's over now.  Anyhow, as I was working I kept thinking how Thanksgiving is about thanks, but Black Friday has really just made it about shopping for others, but getting a good deal for yourself.  Not sure how I feel about the collision of the two days.

Matthew 7:9-11
"9“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good
gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give
good gifts to those who ask him! 12So in everything, do to others
what you would have them do to you, for this sums
up the Law and the Prophets."

I don't have pictures of our actual Thanksgiving Dinner feast, however, right before dinner, my cousin and I dressed down and my other cousin took some fun photos of us for le blog. :)  I went for a boho/trendy look, while she went for a more laid back sporty chic look.  Both these looks are super easy and are just 4 pieces each!

Boho-Trendy Look:
  1. Basic one colored above the knee dress
  2. Bomber jacket (or a jacket in any neutral color like green, brown, or mustard yellow)
  3. Hairwrap / Headwrap (I purchased one a while back on sale, but you can use a scarf too)
  4. Long necklace (layered necklaces look good as well)
Laid Back Sporty Chic:
  1. Sports Jacket (this was Lea's from high school)
  2. Basic bright colored t shirt
  3. Pearl Necklace (or anything chunky and chic)
  4. Skater skirt (or any dark colored over the knee skirt; thin belt is optional to add dimension to your outfit.  You can also use a dress and a crop top if you don't have a skirt)
Let me know if style building is interesting to any of you.  I think this fashion log will make it easier and less work to dress in the morning. haha. :D

Please remember to respect yourself, others, and God in your music selections,
Christine

So TRUE about the way that today's radio music degrades women! It is one of those topics which is ignored because we are often desensitized by it. It is a nightmare thinking about my future kids-when they want to go to a school dance, asking myself if I want them to attend a dance where that kind of trash music is played. It is one of those instances that makes you gong hoe about school privatization. Catholic school all the way!!!!

  5. Followed you guys already on Bloglovin. It's always nice to see other fellow Christian bloggers out there too. I love the varsity jacket!

I think most people don't really think about lyrics when they sing along to the songs because of how catchy the musical score is. I kind of agree with the whole Black Friday frenzy, but I also find this to be incredibly useful for saving money on gifts. I don't make that much money, so I always try to look for good deals.
